2023 Subaru Crosstrek

Currently, the 2023 Subaru Crosstrek is the fastest-selling car in the United States. We anticipate that this little hatchback will do the same in Canada since this vehicle has all the bells and whistles that car shoppers are looking for in a car.

However, there’s a misconception that the Crosstrek is a crossover SUV. In fact, it’s classed as a hatchback, although it may seem to the naked eye like one of the Subaru SUVs with its raised suspension and roof rails. Now that we’ve cleared that all up, we’d like to share with you what we learned about this great new edition of the Subaru family of vehicles.

Trims and Pricing

The 2023 Crosstrek is available in eight trims. Prices start at $24,995 for the entry-level Convenience. The Touring’s price starts at $27,595, and the Sport has a starting price of $30,095.

Various models are available with Subaru’s EyeSight Driver Assist Technology (which we’ll discuss in more detail below under safety features). Starting prices for these models are as follows: Convenience ($27,195), Touring ($29,595), Outdoor ($31,495), Sport ($32,695), and the Limited ($35,795).

Engines and Performance

The Crosstrek can be purchased in two engine configurations depending on your chosen model. The lower models are fitted with the 2.0-litre Direct Injection four-cylinder engine capable of producing a maximum torque of 145 pound-feet and 152 horsepower.

The Outdoor and the Limited have the 2.5-litre Direct Injection four-cylinder engine. This engine kicks out a bit more power at 176 pound-feet of torque and 182 horsepower. The smaller engine will give you an estimated 11.5km/L in the city and 14.45km/L. The vehicle also has a huge fuel tank at 60.5L (20% to 30% larger than its competitors), which means fewer stops at the gas station.

Safety and Technology

Subaru’s EyeSight Driver Assist Technology is available in some of the Crosstrek trims. This technology has sold over one million Subaru vehicles and is the ultimate driver safety aid. It has the ability to monitor traffic movement, optimizes cruise control, has an emergency braking feature, warns the driver when the vehicle sways out of its lane, and many more. This technology has reduced rear-end crashes by up to 85%. All models, excluding the Convenience trims, have Subaru Starlink, which includes an emergency service, boundary alert, remote vehicle locator, and many more features.

All models have a standard 16.5cm touchscreen. A 20.3cm touchscreen is included in the Limited, Outdoor, and Sport trims. Other standard multimedia tech in all trims includes Bluetooth and mobile phone compatibility. Plus, all upper trims have a six-speaker audio system, USB ports, and SiriusXM satellite radio.
